Like any nerd, I have a special place in my heart for Legos. And Back to the Future. And Star Trek. And Firefly. Well, we could be here all day. But there’s one company that isn’t content to wait for official Lego licensed sets in the fashion of Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman. Ichiban Toys makes custom Lego sets, then sells the necessary pieces and instructions to you.

Sure, the models are small, but they capture the essence of their subjects with blocky charm. Some of the highlights include the one and only Serenity, The Normandy from Mass Effect, and Doc Brown’s Delorean. There’s a few more esoteric models, like a Cessna Skyhawk and Bullitt’s ‘68 Mustang.

Most of the sets come in at less than $50, and are available from Ichiban’s site, eBay and Amazon. Oh, and when your friends come over and remark on the awesomeness of your miniature Lego BatPod, there’s no law that says you have to tell them you bought it with instructions.

Come to think of it, this is probably the nerd equivalent of buying dinner at the deli and then serving it on china to your house guests.
